What happens to your message

Messages sent through the form above are delivered to the newsroom inbox by Formspree, a third-party form-handling service. They pass through Formspree systems in transit and are retained there for thirty days before deletion. If you would rather not involve a third party at all, email us directly using one of the addresses on the right; that mail goes to our own mail provider and nowhere else.

Corrections

Tell us the page, the sentence and what you believe the correct information is. You do not need to prove it; we will do the checking. If you are right, the correction goes at the top of the article within two working days and is added to the log on our about page. We will credit you if you want to be credited, and leave you out of it if you do not.

Story tips

We are most interested in things that are checkable. Documents, figures, schedules, and specific first-hand accounts are worth far more to us than a rumour, however well-sourced it feels. If you are sending something that could identify you at work, say so in the first line and use your own device and connection rather than an employer one. We will not name you without your explicit agreement, and we will not confirm to anyone that you contacted us.

Advertising

We sell display advertising against the site as a whole and against broad sections. We do not sell placement next to a named game, company or article, we do not sell sponsored posts or native advertising, and the sales side of the business has no sight of unpublished editorial. Our advertising disclosure and the cookie detail that goes with it are set out in the privacy and cookie policy.

Things we cannot help with

We cannot provide technical support for games or hardware, pass messages to developers, or arrange review copies, because we do not accept review copies. For anything involving your own personal data held by us, use the privacy address, which is monitored separately and answered within the statutory time limit.
